Datin Indranee Liew

Datin Indranee holds Qualified Teacher Status in UK, taught English Language & Literature in Oxford schools in 2001 – 2002. Her experience teaching special needs children in an inclusive school in Oxford led her to pursue training in special needs education, play therapy and cognitive behaviour therapy.

 

Drs Yahya Farid

Drs Yahya berpengalaman lebih daripada 18 tahun dan masih bergiat aktif dalam menyampaikan ceramah serta mengendalikan pelbagai seminar dan bengkel yang berbentuk ilmiah. Menghadiri lebih daripada 500 undangan termasuk seminar, bengkel ataupun ceramah-ceramah biasa. Sering diundang untuk memberi panduan berhubung Teknik Pengucapan Awam, Komunikasi Berkesan dan Penulisan Rasmi Jabatan.

Penglibatan penceramah dalam persatuan, penceramah merupakan guru pustakawan berdaftar dengan Persatuan Pustakawan Malaysia (no. Keahlian : 555), ahli jawatankuasa Persatuan Penulis Negeri Pulau Pinang (2PNP) dan Rakan Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Wilayah Utara. Sering diundang oleh DBP Wilayah Utara untuk program-program Kebahasaan peringkat sekolah, negeri dan Wilayah Utara.

Penceramah juga sering diundang sebagai Fasilitator atau Pemudah Cara dalam sesuatu program anjuran agensi-agensi tertentu sama ada kerajaan ataupun swasta. Misalnya, Program Gerakan Membaca peringkat negeri Pulau Pinang, Program Angkasawan Negara, program-proogram anjuran perpustakaan negeri Kedah dan Pulau Pinang , program Kemerdekaan, Kembara Ilmu, Jejak Bahasa, Ceramah Profesionalisme Guru, Global Leadership, kepimpinan dalam organisasi dan banyak lagi . Pernah juga diundang oleh ILHAM untuk menyampaikan ceramah ”Peranan dan Tanggungjawab Guru Pusat Sumber” kepada guru-guru MRSM Se-Malaysia. Penceramah pernah diundang sebagai ”Tetamu Undangan Sempena Sambutan Hari Kemerdekaan” oleh Radio 3 Pulau Mutiara dalam beberapa siri sama ada secara langsung atau melalui rakaman.

 

Priscilla Ho
Speaker, Keynote 1 & Workshop 3 - MENTAL WELL BEING & HAPPINESS FOR OUR CHILDREN
Creativity At Heart

Ms Priscilla Ho is a Certified Play Therapist and Honorary Member of Play Therapy International, UK. She is the founder of Creativity At Heart, a non profit child guidance centre focusing on mental wellbeing of children. In 2014, she initiated Child Rising, an NGO with a team of allied health professionals. In 2016, she received the Merdeka Thumbs Up Award for leading the anti-bullying program: Be a Buddy not a Bully in Penang. She is a speaker/trainer for: Unleashing the Creativity in Me, Creative Arts & Play Therapy, Be an Awesome Parent and Managing Dental Phobia. Priscilla’s key message: With poor mental health escalating, increased drugs cases, school dropouts, child abuse and neglect, have we failed our children? We must remember the Child’s Health is the Nation’s Wealth.



Prof Dato' Dr Lai Fong Wah
Facilitator, Workshop 4 - UNDERSTANDING YOURSELF THROUGH THE TREE OF LIFE

Consultant Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist and Cognitive Behaviour Therapist, Dato’ Dr Lai Fong Hwa, has been practising psychiatry since 1994 after completing medical (1987) and psychiatry (1994) qualifications at University Malaya. Dato Dr Lai pursued child & adolescent psychiatry training in Oxford, UK in 2001 – 2002. Upon returning to Penang, he established the 2 Way Centre under the auspices of the Penang Mental Health Association. The centre conducts assessment and intervention for children and adolescents with special needs. Dato Dr Lai is also trained in cognitive behaviour therapy and family therapy. Dato Dr Lai enjoys teaching and is Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Penang Medical College.



Dr Khong Yoon Loong
Speaker, Workshop 2 - THE YOUNG SCIENTIST

Dr. YL Khong holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Canterbury, NZ and did his post-doc at King’s College London. His career spans both academia and industry and he has worked in NZ, UK, US, Japan, Australia and Germany. In academia, he was lecturer at the Institute of Advance Studies, University of Malaya; Associate Professor, Faculty of Applied Science at AIMST; Dean, School of Science and Technology, Wawasan Open University and Professor and Vice Chancellor of KDU University College. In industry, he was Chief Scientist for ShinEtsu Handotai, Engineering Manager for Fuji Electric, Staff Engineer and Materials Engineering Manager for Intel and Director of Global Manufacturing Engineering for First Solar. He has published about 20 peered reviewed and conference papers and has spoken at international meetings. Dr Khong has a passion for scientific education and development of young people. After a brief period of retirement in mid-2015, he assumed the role of CEO for Tech Dome Penang, the 1st Science Discovery Centre in Penang setup to inspire young people in the areas of science and technology.
